Hagg Wood

I was surprised to learn of the different varieties of Forget-me-not.

The wood has carpets of yellow Opposite-leaved Golden-saxifrage and there is a small patch of Alternate-leaved Golden-Saxifrage growing close to the ground with a greyer green leaf but it sends out a taller stem of flowers on triangular stems to attract the pollinators.

The tiny seedling of Herb Robert was germinating amongst the moss on a fallen tree.

The Sanicle (Sanicula europaea) plant has flower heads not yet fully in flower.
