Season: Autumn
Woodland: Whitecliff and Clarkson’s Woods
There are several Small Leaved Lime trees growing in the woods. They appear to be clumps of trees but have been coppiced. They are unusual to the area as they need warmth to germinate. The examples in these woods may date back to a period of warmth in the Medieval Era. They have smallish heart shaped leaves.
