Saltburn Gill

Spring seems really early so we are taking the spring walk early. Such a lot of action already.

I would have been so surprised, on this bright sunny morning, if the first flowers on show were not the lesser celandine.

Along the shady banks of the Gill are lots of “Lords and Ladies” popping up. Well “Lords” at first anyway. [Arum maculatum]

Nice damp spaces produce carpets of golden saxifrage.

Lovely little primrose hiding away along the bank side. Ooh joy!
