Saltburn Gill

Season: Spring
Woodland: Saltburn Gill
Saltburn Gill echoed to the sound of Chiffchaffs, Blackbirds, Wrens and Blackcaps. We watched a Queen Bumble bee searching for a nesting hole.
The most plentiful flower on 30th March was the Wood Anemone.
[A male flowered plant of Dog’s-mercury. This is a dioecious species which means male and female flowers grow on separate plants. The female flowers are harder to find and are often in amongst the leaves.]
