Hagg Wood

Woodland:

Couldn’t resist a trip to Hagg Wood during this beautiful spring weather. It would be a shame to miss out on the early flowers. Carpets of wood anemone as far as the eye could see. There being no leaf canopy, the bank sides were crisscrossed by hard edged shadows from the trees. Most anemones were in full bloom. Some just waking up. Primrose were in good supply, punctuating the woodland landscape. Lots of less familiar flowers also. Moschatel (Adoxa moschatellina) and goldilocks buttercup amongst them.
