Whitecliff and Clarkson’s Woods

Added on 22nd May 2017 by Malcolm Cowdry

Bumble bees, busy since very early spring are still finding plenty to feed on. White dead nettle in this case.

The germander speedwell, found on the pathway into the wood are a particularly deep blue.

Water avens are very plentiful right now.

This bonny knapweed is keeping this bumble bee very busy.

[The knapweed is also known as Perennial Cornflower (Centaurea montana) a cottage garden plant that sometimes escapes into the wild]
