Hagg Wood

Woodland:

Wood anemone in flower carpets the floor of Hagg Wood, but as we walked I noticed that some leaves had grown taller and looked a bit strange.

On closer inspection they were cover with tiny dots which is apparently a fungal infection of Ochropsora ariae, which seems to be either a rare rust on wood anemone or rarely recorded according to the NBN atlas see https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NBNSYS0000021806#overview  which shows only 77 records of it in the UK.
